The Women’s Health Nurse practitioner in Cooktown is an integral part of a collaborative health service and has enabled significant improvement in health literacy and outcomes in the remote communities of Hopevale, Wujal, and Laura through continuity of service provision.
The journey to establish a Women’s Health service in remote Australia, has been challenging but worthwhile. After over 10 years of establishing the service, it has now matured and is a well accessed and accepted component of the health care.
