The Diabetic Retinal screening program to be undertaken by the ROOM project will allow screening in the patients home town, with review by a specialist using a store and forward method of telehealth to enable accurate diagnosis and early treatment of Diabetic retinopathy in at risk populations within the DDHHS.
The screening is undertaken using a hand help retinal camera to obtain pictures of the patient's retina.
