Meeting date: 21 October 2021
As clinicians, we use a wide spectrum of products to support the delivery of patient care. The planning and response to COVID-19 over the last 18 months has highlighted the importance of ensuring supplier relationships and procurement processes are right. Would greater collaboration between clinicians and procurement teams improve the process, product quality and value, and the response to evolving clinical needs?
Using the example of personal protective equipment (PPE) procurement, we will be joined by members of the Queensland Health procurement team to:
- Gain greater insight into the procurement process and how it happens in Queensland Health
- Better understand the challenges and threats to the supply chain posed by COVID-19
- Consider opportunities to improve clinician involvement in the procurement process.
